Your registered, digitally-coded distress message is broadcast via a powerful 5-watt, 406 MHz signal along with a separate 121.5 MHz homing signal to guide local Search and Rescue efforts. Typical notification to Search and Rescue is within 1 hour, with a resulting search radius of 2.3 nm. The SATELLITE2 406™ can be manually activated and is self-buoyant; no external float collar is required. Category I: Automatic deployment.
