Head offshore with confidence. With three levels of integrated signal technology - GPS positioning, a powerful 406 MHz signal and 121.5 MHz homing capability - the AquaLink™ View quickly and accurately relays your position to a worldwide network of Search and Rescue satellites, reducing search time and increasing your chances of survival. It's reliable signaling technology that has saved more than 28,000 lives since 1982.
The AquaLink™ View broadcasts a unique registered distress signal that not only tells rescuers where you are, but who you are. The onboard GPS can fix your position to within 100 meters and then utilizes a powerful 406 MHz signal to relay your distress call to orbiting satellites. As local Search and Rescue is deployed, a separate homing signal and integrated LED strobe light guide rescuers to your exact location.
The AquaLink™ View sports a digital display that allows you to see all of the beacon's operational activities. The screen displays GPS LAT/LON, operating instructions, usage tips, transmission bursts as well as battery power. The digital display also makes self-testing your beacon simple and easy to understand by visually walking you through the self-test step by step. No more relying on listening to beeps and looking for LEDs.
The AquaLink™ View is small enough to be easily carried in a pack or pocket or can be worn on deck, at the helm, in quarters or on a life vest and will float if accidentally dropped overboard.
ACR Exclusive: Built-in GPS acquisition test mode allows you
to test GPS functionality up
to 60 times over the life of the battery. Tap into the same
field-tested rescue technology used by the U.S. Military,
U.S. Coast Guard, NATO Special Forces and
Arctic explorers.
I use this on my 17' inflatable when I am off shore. This provides a great piece of mind and the digital display lets you know exactly what is going on. I love that it floats and it is waterproof, because if I ever need it, the situation would be extreme. The price seems high, but you might be saving your life or the life of those on your boat. If you have enough money to afford a boat, as a responsible boat owner, you should not be without one. As it says on the box, it is your best last chance.
Best Option for Personal Rescue. Easy Handle
I looked at a lot of personal locator beacons I Need a Good 2 in one Quality P L B if I have an Emergency. when I head off Shore it has to be waterproof and it has to float. I need to use the same PLB for land Activities Camping, Hiking Deer Hunting and other out door Activities. I found that Confidence with my AQualink View by ACR
The I'm OK message that can be sent to family when on a long flight, ease of use. Knowing that help will be on the way when activated. I hope that I nevwer have to actually use this product but I know that if I do, it won't let me down.
Pros: Slightly smaller than the picture would suggest. Seems pretty durable like it could be tossed around a few times and still work. Simple operation and display shows you what's going on. Unlike Spot Messenger, you can call for help without any subscription fees. Also uses a more reliable system than Spot. Cons: The 406link messaging service is kind of a clever hack- it just listens for the 'self test' messages from the PLB and acts when it hears them. Might be good for telling people you're still alive if you're going hiking in the wilderness. But because it uses the 'self test' function of the PLB every time you use it it wears down the PLB battery a bit, and after a certain number of self tests you need to mail the PLB back for a battery replacement. General Comments: I've never had to use my PLB other than testing it. Hopefully I never will. But a PLB is always a better choice than Spot Messenger for calling for help- the high-power 406MHz transmitter is a lot more reliable than Spot's 1600MHz low-power transmitter and no subscription is required to get emergency help. If you go down in the sticks, you'll be glad you had this.
Great PLB you can use on land or water. All the features of a EPIRB at about half the price. Reassuring test functions and update display so you know exactly what the unit is doing. Whether you're in the gulf stream or the brush, when you hit the button someone is coming to help.
This product is easy to operate. Has all the functions and features to help save lives in a life threading situation; at a very affordable price.

Q: Whats the difference between the AquaLink models and the SARLink Models?
The quick answer is flotation.
The AquaLink and AquaLink View Personal Locator Beacons are buoyant so you can retrieve them should you ever accidentally drop them in the ocean, lake or in a river.
The SARLink and SARLink View Personal Locator Beacons have a slimmed down back case to make them slightly smaller but these models will not float.
Q: What do PLBs do?
Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs) are distress radio beacons which transmit location information about individuals directly to Search and Rescue forces letting them know that the owner is in grave and imminent danger.
Q: Where can I purchase a beacon?
Visit our Where To Buy dealer locator
Q: Can 406 MHz beacons be used anywhere in the world?
Yes, 406 MHz beacons can be used anywhere in the world, including the Poles.
Q: When do you use a Beacon?
Most Search-and-Rescue (SAR) organizations instruct that beacons are satellite signaling devices of last resort, for use when all other means of self-rescue have been exhausted, where the situation is grave with imminent danger and the loss of life, limb, eyesight or valuable property will occur without assistance.
