Senior Software Engineer

SUMMARY

Researches and develops software applications for embedded devices related to portable communication products including conceptual design, detail design and coding, qualification testing and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         Derives software development and test requirements from given system level requirements.

·         Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within performance, time and cost constraints.

·         Develops and directs software programming, testing procedure and documentation.

·         Consults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational requirements of overall system.

·         Coordinates field installation & upgrade support of developed products.

·         Keeps up with current technology in field through reading, self-study and seminars.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

1.    BSEE or BSCS with emphasis on embedded software design techniques required, MS preferred.

2.    Over 5 years relevant experience with embedded software design applications. 

3.    Hands on experience programming with Windows CE and Microsoft Visual Studio. 

4.    Experience with developing embedded SW for the ARM microcontroller.

5.    Familiar with graphical software design, experience with developing embedded graphical mapping engine SW a plus.

6.    Good understanding and experience with SW development techniques, testing, and documentation.
