FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - MAY 22, 2008 - ACR Electronics,
Inc., the world¹s established leader in safety and survival technologies
(founded in 1956), announced, at its yearly international sales meeting,
record sales for its 2007 fiscal year and introduced a dynamic, new “The
Science of Survival” theme for its line of marine, outdoor, aviation and
military products.
“This is a year of change”, ACR President Paul Frank announced to some
100 members of ACR’s global sales organization gathered earlier this
month in Fort Lauderdale, FL, ACR’s home base.
Frank told the contingent that ACR Electronics (www.acrelectronics.com)
recorded its best year ever in 2007, eclipsing 2006 fiscal year sales by
a healthy 15.5 percent. With a stagnant and difficult economy, fierce
competition, rising costs and severe pricing pressure facing
manufacturers in 2008, Frank told the group that ACR was committed to
growth “even in these difficult times.” Frank continued with, “ACR, a
company at the top of its game, has launched a company-wide Lean
Initiative that will allow us to more efficiently design, build,
purchase, market and sell our life-saving products with the ultimate
beneficiary being the consumer.” The Science of Survival campaign will
capture and communicate the technology behind the quality that is the
foundation of ACR’s reputation.
Perhaps best known for its line of satellite detectable 406 MHz
emergency beacons, EPIRBs (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons)
and Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs), ACR remains the global leader for
both product categories. In 2007, outdoor sales were up 87 percent, due
primarily to ACR’s line of PLBs, and North American marine sales enjoyed
a 7.9 percent increase. International and government sales, including
the ACR Europe office, also reported increases in 2007.
To take better advantage of ACR’s position as the industry’s established
leader, and to better convey to consumers its unrivaled standards and
testing systems, its state-of-the-art, lean US manufacturing processes
and its close relationship with Search and Rescue agencies across the
planet, ACR is launching an image makeover. The refreshed image is more
than skin deep and combines the new “The Science of Survival” theme with
design plans for trade booths, packaging, advertising, sales materials
and a more consumer-friendly web site with e-tail features, educational
downloads and an online blog.
Paul Hardin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said the dynamic,
clean, high-tech, upscale look will be worked into ACR’s overall
marketing plans through the course of the next year. The Science of
Survival slogan represents ACR’s new approach to building life-saving
equipment with the focus on process control and leaving nothing to
chance.
“Consumers will begin seeing these new initiatives on the store shelves,
in the media, in our brochures and on our web site over the course of
the next several months,” said Hardin, who promised other new “industry
changing” products to be launched by the company in 2008.
Thousands of sailors, hikers, boaters, pilots and men and women in
uniform owe their lives to ACR engineered, designed, tested and
manufactured products. ACR products are used where all other means of
rescue have been exhausted.
“We build quality products knowing that they are used to save lives,”
said Hardin. “They are designed and built to work the first time, every
time.”
