Update: ACR Supports 3,000-Mile Ocean Rowing Expedition

This winter, ocean rower Paul Ridley, 25, completed a solo rowing-journey across the Atlantic Ocean. He became the youngest - and only third American - to complete the voyage by rowing. His goal was to raise $500,000 for cancer research. ACR Electronics supported Ridley’s Row for Hope expedition by equipping him with a GlobalFix™ 406 EPIRB (shown in photo mounted on the front cockpit wall). Fortunately, he didn't need to use the beacon but he said having it onboard gave him comforting assurance. "I went 29 days without seeing a single sign of human life. No sailboats, no cargo ships, no planes, no satellites...nothing. It was great to know that even though I was alone in one of the most remote places on earth, I had an EPIRB from ACR Electronics within reach if there was an emergency," Ridley said.
