Mini B300™ ILS H2ON is Water Activated

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-- The Mini B300™ ILS H2ON beacon is now literally ready to automatically spring into lifesaving action thanks to the inclusion of a water activation sensor.

Convenient for crewmen on workboats, barges, and oilrigs as well as pilots and cruising couples, the Mini B300™ ILS H2ON is small enough to be comfortably worn on a PFD or carried in a pocket. First to feature a readily available, inexpensive power-source, the MiniB300™ ILS H2ON operates on a common, non-hazardous 6 volt lithium camera-type battery (Duracell DL223A or equivalent).

With a switch set in the armed position, the beacon can be automatically activated when in contact with water. The unit can be manually activated if the user chooses not to arm the beacon for water activation.

The MiniB300™ ILS H2ON also features a durable, stainless steel antenna that automatically deploys with a simple flick of the finger.

The compact MiniB300™ ILS H2ON can be mated with ACR's Vecta2™ Direction Finder as a complete crew-overboard system. Its range is maximized and peak effective radiated power is created when the antenna is fully extended. The MiniB300™ ILS H2ON design allows a crew person in an overboard situation to quickly alert the boat to the emergency. The person in the water has the ability to improve the effective range and detectability by deploying the antenna to its upright and fully extended position. The EPIRB transmits on the 121.5 MHz Search and Rescue (SAR) frequency at 75 mW for a minimum of 24 hours.

Equipped with an in-line speaker, the beacon emits an audio warble to confirm activation and transmission of a distress signal or to notify of accidental activation. The warble also allows for an effective self-test.

The MiniB300™ ILS H2ON case has an integral one-inch wide (2.5 cm) webbing loop and an 18-inch (46 cm) hook and loop strap that will comfortably fit the device to the shoulder flotation area of most PFDs.

A 10-foot long (3 m) lanyard is included to allow for more versatile and secure methods of attachments. Diamond knurling on the case improves the fit and security of grip, even when the user is wearing a large-gloved survival suit. A special LED light indicator confirms transmission.

The Mini B300™ ILS H2ON measures 5.0 x 2.9 x 1.6 in (12.7 x 7.4 x 4.1cm) and weighs 7.6 oz (215 g). It has a bright yellow, impact-resistant fiber reinforced case and floats if dropped overboard.
